Read plans, diagrams and schematics to determine how to proceed
Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors and furnaces, according to blueprints and using hand and power tools
Using machine tools, namely lathes and grinders, fabricate parts required for the overhaul, maintenance or setup of machinery
Operate lifting equipment, such as travelling cranes, to install machines and parts during the installation, setup and repair of machinery
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect faults and failures
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
Clean, lubricate and maintain industrial machines including industrial piping and forklifts
Assemble machinery and equipment using manual and power tools and welding equipment before installing them
Your Qualifications
Vocational school diploma in industrial mechanics or machining (college diploma in mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance considered an asset)
Experience in industrial mechanics considered an asset
Experience in machining considered an asset
Familiar with various types of machines, parts, lifts and accessories being used
Owning of the tools of the trade
Basic knowledge of paper manufacturing and conversion processes considered an asset
