Your Challenge
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the holder of this position will have the following responsibilities:
- Contribute to and coordinate projects to improve our manufacturing processes and production efficiency, as well as project aiming at reducing costs and improving quality
- Provide technical support to production operations, processes and environment-related issues
- Contribute to the optimization of processes, additives and quality
- Responsible for the analysis and tracking of data and providing corrective measures as required
- Although this position does not involve direct supervision of employees, the selected candidate could be asked to supervise the work of unionized employees when required, for the purpose of eventually becoming a supervisor
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and prevent risks
- Write up any required updates to technical documentation relative to additives and processes
Your Qualifications
- Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or computer engineering or equivalent
- At least 3 years relevant work experience in process optimization or continuous improvement in the pulp and paper sector; equivalent experience in another manufacturing field may be considered
- Extensive computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (expert level skills in Excel, required)
- Knowledge of PI, PI Datalink, Delta V, and Wonderware systems considered an asset
- Functional knowledge of English, spoken and written
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills and inspiring leadership
- Able to coach and influence people, good listening skills
- Autonomous, meticulous and available
- Good analytical skills and strong team spirit
- Highly organized; recognized skill for managing written information
